On Friday, we made 6 boutonnieres and 5 corsages and pinned them into boxes, misted them with water and floral preservative, and put them in a fridge. This took about an hour, given interruptions and the fact that we didn't really know what we wanted to do with the corsages until we got to them. The boutonnieres were much easier:

Making the bouquet itself was actually not that hard. I wrapped the oasis floral foam bouquet holder in the ribbon we found on sale (using hot glue to fix the folded-in ends), and put it in a sturdy bowl, then built the outside ring of dusty miller to form the shape of the bouquet. After that, it was mostly just sticking in the dahlias and scabiosa and fixing the stems in a bit with the spray stem bottle of floral glue to make them a bit more sturdy.

Here's a closeup of the final result (the wheat on the side looks a bit more asymmetric than it really was:

And, for comparison, here was my "inspiration" bouquet:

Considering that the flowers in the original weren't in season and that I didn't want a hand-tied bouquet, I was fairly pleased with the result.
We also had big baskets of flowers on the walls of the church, and a couple vases filled with the leftovers. Lots of flowers!!

Your flowers were gorgeous. Y'all did a wonderful job.
You have a good eye. It is the little bolero from Swallowtails.
Have you seen her new fall books? They are AMAZING.
